I think that Breaking Dawn will be a way better movie than Twilight. Here's why!
After Robert Pattinson’s announcement that Breaking Dawn, the fourth book in Stephenie Meyer’s ridiculously popular Twilight Saga, will hit the big screen, we got to thinking: Will it make a good movie? And more important, will it turn out better than the book?
Breaking Dawn is very different from the first three novels in the series (Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse) and saw numerous mixed reviews during its release week. The millions-strong fan base was divided — everyone either loved it or hated it.
We’ve come up with 10 ways the movie could either rake in major box-office bucks or epically fail in a way not seen since Speed Racer dropped off the face of the planet. Even Pattinson might not be enough to save this one.
1. Bella and Edward's Wedding
The wedding and first 100 pages of Breaking Dawn is, without a doubt, the most entertaining part of the book. It’s like old style Twilight, with every character acting as they should (except for Edward and the garter ... weird much?), and the ever-present Bella-Edward-Jacob love triangle. Unfortunately, the most anticipated event since the Millennium is over all too quickly and things start to get worse as soon as our vampire and his bride reach their honeymoon destination, the Isle Esme. When Breaking Dawn is finally made into a movie, more emphasis should be put into the wedding: It’s the last time a lot of fans felt like they were reading The Twilight Saga and not some dodgy fan-fic found on the Internet.
2. The "Sex" Scenes
Yep, you read that right. Bella and Edward finally get it on, in what can only be described as the most absent sex scene written since the 1900s. The act itself is merely implied, with the only proof it happened some broken headboards and bitten pillows. Oh, and a very bruised Bella. How they’ll portray this in the movie is anyone’s guess, and no doubt complaints of abuse and domestic violence are a big fear of everyone involved with the movie. If it stays rated PG-13 like its predecessors, ardent fans of Bella and Edward can kiss goodbye to their much adored night of passion. Sorry kids, it’s still implication only.
3. Jacob's Third of the Book
Werewolf Jacob takes center stage for a third of the book in what is arguably the best section of the entire 800-page tome. He’s funny, realistic, and probably the only one in the book to actually stay in character. If you were a member of Team Edward before, I guarantee you’ll rethink your loyalty after reading Part 2. The young Jacob Black is seriously that endearing, redeeming what is an otherwise tiresome read. Look for Taylor Lautner to take center stage on the movie posters — he’ll be carrying this one solo.
4. Renesmee's Birth
Normal births are painful, right? They hurt, they’re messy, and yet some women have them time and time again. Stephenie Meyer takes birthing to the next level in Breaking Dawn by having a giant baby literally crack its way out of mommy dearest. Bella’s spine breaks, leaving her writhing around like a beetle stuck on its back. Edward swoops in to the rescue and rips the baby out of Bella’s uterus with his bare-yet-sharp vampire teeth, then proceeds to turn his beloved into a vampire in order to save her fragile human life. PG-13? Uhh ... no, not so much.
5. Renesmee Carlie Cullen
Ignore the name for now, I’ll get to that soon enough. The idea that Bella and Edward could have a half-vampire, half-human baby is absurd, but to actually follow through on that idea is not only ridiculous but unnecessary. It turned Bella into a crazy, Rosalie-dependent robot and made Edward almost non-existent (more on that later). Renesmee is an annoying character and one that I have no desire to see immortalized on a DVD disc. Her accelerated growth and intelligence could prove to be quite a problem for casting agents, not to mention the poor director who has to work with a small child. Then there’s the topic of her name: Renesmee Carlie Cullen, a mishmash of Bella and Edward’s mothers’ (Renee and Esme) and fathers’ (Charlie and Carlisle) names. Eurgh.
6. A Major Lack of Edward
We all know that Edward and Robert Pattinson are the driving forces behind this franchise, so what would happen if he ceased to exist for most of the fourth film? You’d have a problem, that’s for sure. In Breaking Dawn Edward is all but forgotten after the first 100 pages or so, and basically just mopes and moans whenever he pops up during the rest of the book. He’s a shadow of his former, chivalrous self and hardly utters a loving word to the girl he’s been waiting an eternity for. Summit would have to change this for the movie or Robert Pattinson may find himself strangely redundant. It’s no fun playing a vampire who’s lost his bite.
7. An Influx of Utterly Pointless Characters
Many new vampires get introduced during the latter part of Breaking Dawn. Unfortunately, though, none of them really do much of anything. Yes, they can be pretty entertaining at times, but they’re in no way crucial to the story development. If casting execs can only choose a handful of new characters to cast, my vote would go to Garrett, Kate, Peter, Charlotte, and Alistair. The others (yes, there are plenty more) are barely worth mentioning and should only be cast if Summit suddenly find itself with more cash, and time, than it needs.
8. The Absence of Action
Hardly anyone dies in Breaking Dawn. Come to think of it, hardly anyone fights or even breaks a sweat. The vampire Irina is the only fatality and, seeing as we’re only introduced to her in this book, no one really cares about her anyway. Meyer botched things up when it came to killing her characters, all of whom just live happily ever after. There’s no epic battle like in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. In fact, there isn’t a sharpened fang in sight. It’s simple: Movies need action or the audience gets bored. It looks like the screenwriter, Melissa Rosenberg, will have to do what she’s done with New Moon and tweak some scenes here and there in order to keep the fans awake.
9. Superfluous Plot Points that Go Nowhere
Bella’s power and J. Jenks. Both of these story developments are emphasized as important and crucial to the plot, yet neither really go anywhere. Yes, Bella saves everyone with her convenient shield that not even the most powerful of vampires can break, but it still wasn’t the revelation it should have been. If this is the reason that Edward can’t read Bella’s mind, I think I’d have preferred not knowing and making my own explanation — I’m sure it would have been better than a Lily Potter-esque love shield. The movie script will need to be edited better than the book or it’ll end up as an 8-hour timesink.
10. A Vampire War that’s Won by ... Talking?
When was the last time you saw bloodthirsty vampires back down because some friendlier vampires asked them to? Never, of course. That’s just not how it works in the world of the undead. They fight, they kill, then they go and toast to their night. They don’t stand around talking for half an hour before deciding they have better things to do. It’s something that can almost be overlooked in a book, but in a movie? No way. Something has to happen to keep the audience entertained, and a friendly chat ain’t going to cut it.
Let us know your thoughts on the Breaking Dawn movie by leaving a comment below. Do you think it could prove to be the Summit’s biggest hit? Or is it more likely to fade away faster than Robert Pattinson’s hair color? Either way, it’ll be an interesting one to watch.

ok..so i only have a few things to say about this article...first thing is i think you need to re-read the book because obviously you missed something! now, to pull the article apart. #1 THE WEDDING-I agree that this is one of my favorite parts of the book and i cried when Jacob came back for the wedding. #2 THE SEX SCENES-I don't feel that there was anything wrong with the way Stephenie left them out. You have to remember that there are 13 year olds reading these books and that would really suck if they couldn't read this last book because Steph wanted them to get a little intimate. I think she did a great job at going around it #3 JACOB'S A THIRD OF THE BOOK-I agree there is a lot of Jacob in this book. But, you have to look at the new role he is taking. He goes from being Bella's best friend to someone she loves and then imprints with Renesme, you know he is having some crazy feelings and emotions goin on. However, I completely disagree that he carries the book. Yes I want him to be happy and glad to know how he is feeling but his part of the book is still revolving around Bella (PS SHE is who the whole thing is REALLY about, not Edward, Jacob, or even Renesme!) #4

All of the characters had some part in the plot of the fight. If we're taking out pointless characters then we might as well have not had Charlie or Renee. #8 NO ACTION-Again it's more of a love story than an action book! #9 PLOTS THAT GO NOWHERE-think about what you're saying because everything in the book goes somewhere. Just because she didn't have to send Jacob and Renesme away in the end doesn't mean that it wasn't important, it helped us know a little bit about Alice (whom is one of my fav characters and I cried when she left) Also, if it wasn't for Bella's power then there wouldn't have been a war either b/c Alec and Jane would have immobilized them before it could begin. #10 WAR WON WITH TALKING-All I have to say here is that if you didn't want a happy ending with Bella, Edward and everyone else have a happily ever after then you obviously are not as big of a Twilight fan as you claim you are. Which I would like to end with. Any of us hard core Twilight fans found that there was importance to the book and if you can't see that then you aren't as hard core as you claim to be. PS I read all four books in 5 days and have read them a total fo 3 times each so I think I know what I'm talking about.

I agree with the author of this article about both the problems with the book and the problems with making the book into a movie. To say that Breaking Dawn was my least favorite of the four books is and extreme understatement. I had to force myself to finish the book because I kept thinking "the good parts" were just ahead. The good parts never arrived and I was extremely disappointed. For those of you who say Bella is the star, I can guarantee that readership, as well as movie viewership, would go down significantly if there were no Edward. I for one do not want to sit in a theatre watching Kristen Stewart. I saw the movie because of Robert Pattinson. The fourth book was sloppy and did not stay true to the characters. I fervently hope that the crew putting together the Breaking Dawn movie and can make some serious improvements!!!.

I agree with you that Rob Pattinson got me to watch the movie but I think think that they should try to stick with the book as much as possible. I was very disappointed when they changed Twilight so much and I hope they didn't screw New Moon up to much either.

i think you are misinterpreting what i was saying. i said "Bella" is the star, Pattinson is the draw. what i meant by that is Robert Pattinson (not Edward Cullen, difference) is the reason people's butts will be in the seats (well most butts anyway) come TTS:BD, and Bellla Swan (not Kristen Stewart, difference) is the star because these books are the story of Bella Swan, not Edward Cullen.

I thought breaking Dawn was the best book of the twilight saga, fyi I'm not 13! I don't think it's possible for a movie to be as good as the book, they can't add in every detail and all the thoughts, also you have to use your imagination while reading and it's never gonna be how everyone pictures it. Don't get me wrong I think the movie will be great really hoping they turn it into 2 parts to get capture as much as possible. I'm still all the way team Edward in this book Jacob was hilarious, but he's her best friend like a brother to her and Edward shows how much he cars about Bella, Any loving husband would be depressed if his wife was dying, what they should just change it

Calmdown, it's a book. there's no need to call the author a ***** for voicing the flaws in a FAR from flawless book And don't say "Why do u hate it? Did u even read it? You're not a real fan!" I'm the resident twilight expert in my bookstore, went to a breaking dawn party, won the trivia contest, stayed up until 7 AM finishing the book(which was physically painful)I love Stephenie Meyer's first three books, and fell in love with the series and later the movie and it's actors, but breaking dawn was a letdown. The entire plot was noncontinuous and unfortunately, she lost the characters that she had built up in three books. So in response to your opinion on someone elses opinion:1I loved the wedding scene and all that came before it. The characters were true, the story was entertaining; classic twilight2The first three built up this great sexual tension between Bella and Edward, and while leaving stuff to the imagination is good, leaving a "fade to black" is no fun 3Sure, jacob is a "tell it as it is" character who's fun to listen to...in moderation 4I remember reading the birth scene thinking: wtf are they gonna do to make this suitable for people to see? 5there is so much wrong with renesmee; but i can tell you feel strongly about the issue. i wont say anymore 6Robert pattinson can pull of tortured/depressed and still look sexy, but using new moon as an example for how twilight works without edward isnt logical; edward left in new moon, now hes a placeholder/loveofherlife? that makes no sense 7there were so many characters w/o plot ties she had to put in index in.that proves the point 8the absence of action didn't irritate me, it was the obnoxious build up that lead to ABSOLUTELY NOTHING 9Come on, J Jenks went nowhere. so she got some passports so she could send her daughter off, that's not a plot, that's a sentence10(see#8). Don't call me a fake fan for not liking breaking dawn, don't comment negatively for posting my opinion.Listen to other people before you judge.

OKAY LISTEN IM VERY PISSED OF ABOUT THIS ARTICLE THE FIRST FEW DIDNT BOTHER ME PERSONALLY I HATED HOW THEY CHANGED TWILIGHT AND IM OPING THEY DONT DO TOO MUCH DAMAGE TO NEW MOON IF THEY ADD MORE VIOLENCE THATS POINT LESS BECAUSE AS FAS AND IF YOU WERE ONE YOUD UNDERSTAND WE COULDNT PUT BREAKING DAWN DOWN SO OBVIOUSLY WE LIKED IT THE WAY IT WAS SO WHY WOULD WE WANT THEM TO MAKE A 2 HOUR MOVIE ABOUT THE WEDDING SEX AND A WAR! AND THERE IS ALOT MORE TO BREAKING DAWN THATN THAT IF THATS WHAT YOUR THINKING I REALLY DONT APPRECIATED HOW YOU MINDLESSLY AND IGNORANTLY ATTACKED BREAKING DAWN AND I DONT THINK THAT STEPHANIE MEYER WOULD EITHER SINCE SHE HAS SOLD BILLIONS OF BOOKS AND MOST OF THE WORLD IS SOME WHAT OBSESSED WITH HER GENIUS NOVELS SO HERE IS MY OPINION ON YOUR 10: #1- i personally think that the wedding was spectacular and i cried when jacob blew up and was completely heartbroken i dont think any things wrong with it plus why in the world would we think that the rest of breaking dawn was bad you just have horrible judgement. #2- the "sex" scenes i would understand why some of the older crowds including myself would like them to let there imaginations run wild but you also have to put others things into perspective like how we should stay as close to the book as possible and how the younger crowd who reads the books like 12 year olds cant see the rated-R movies and should keep it pg-13. #3- i absolutly love jacob and dont have much negativity to spread on this point EXCEPT i think stephanie defiantly kept everyone in character as much as possiable all of the changes that happen im positive that there personalisties changed on purpose. #4- okay in the book it is a bit grafic but surly they can turn it down the same way they turned up the action in twilight even thought this series isnt about action. #5- THERE IS NOTHING FUCKING WRONG WITH RENESMEE OR HER NAME! #6- WHO CARES okay stephanie is a professional author and she has amazing talent no one i know has ever

I think this whole discussion just reinforces that Breaking Dawn is the most divisive book in the series. It was pretty gutsy of the writer to air her concerns so openly. Only someone who is a fan of the Twilight series would make themselves so open for the kind of personal attacks that have been lobbed at her.

welll this made me really angry because the book was amazing and just so everyone knows the scripts have already been written, so its not going to change, they already ahve the directors which will be directing breaking dawn so, stop moaning about the book and what the movie will turn out to be. twilight was an amazing movie and they changed that about and it will be the same as new moon when it comes out. they movies where big hits and its not only that there are millions of fans out there that can wait to see how they portray all these scens cos it will be interesting to see how the directors will do it=]

Okay, am I seriously the only one commenting who's not a 13-year-old girl? I'm not sure why having an opinion that differs from someone else is cause to scream, "idiot" - and I doubt I never will - but I have to go out on a limb here and say as a "Twilight" fan: "Yes, Breaking Dawn sucked." Hardcore. All the people who go, "But that's how Stephenie wanted it to end from the beginning," well, hmm, has anyone ever read the interviews when it was supposed to end with a wedding? Or wait, it was only supposed to be three books. THREE. So maybe that's not the best argument to go with there. And yes these kids are going to be older when the movie comes out, and will want to see racier stuff. Hell, even the 13-year-old RPattz fans right now probably want to see their Edward in a sex scene. As far as the lacking of Edward in the book, of course they'll add more, he's their moneymaker and Summit Entertainment isn't staffed completely by idiots. I think the author's opinions in this article are very vaild. And as far as everyone saying, "Shut up, idiot, go, die or something and never write again,"... Um, how many of you guys commenting get paid to write articles for a living? How many of you understand the point of an op/ed piece... Wait, does anyone understand op/ed even? Let's all do the one thing all of our mother's tried to teach us, "If you can't say something nice, then shut up." It's a book, and it BLEW CHUNKS. That's my opinion, yes, it differs from most of yours, I'm still not any stupider.

just because someone has a positive opinion does not mean they're ignorant, and sorry to blow your mind but you're not the only one who isn't a 13 year old girl - although you kinda of sound like one, you completely contradict your self - i quote " 'If you can't say something nice, then shut up." It's a book, and it BLEW CHUNKS.' " does that sound like something nice? so grow up and act your age - whatever it may be - oh, and for the record, stephenie wrote something resembling Breaking Dawn called Forever Dawn that was a sequel to Twilight but decided that a few things needed to happen in between and that's when New Moon and Eclipse were created

its an amazing book and stephanie Meyer done an amazing job on the all of the twilight saga books. Her books her different, the vampires are different...as so is the werewolves, heres my take on things....OH AND THEY ALREADY HAVE THE SCRIPTS WRITTEN FOR THE NEXT MOVIES 1.The wedding was amazing, and there has to be a bit drama in it with jacob, i mean it was bound to happen...2.The sex scenes dont have to be vulgar/raunchy or what ever word you like to use for it, yeah the rating may need to go from a 12 to a 15 but if that happens then so be it. but the director will find a way round it,to make it into a less kinky..edward in the book says i did say ww would try and all it has to do then is walk to the bedroom and blackout and wake up in the morning, you dont actually have to see any of it4.Renesmee birth, yeaah it will be difficult but as like the sex scenes they will work a way around it....Aaaah what is wrong with her name, its different and it gets shortend anyway to nessie =] which is nice. and yeah she grows fast but its diff its not like any other book and she will be amazing in teh movie whoever it may be. she is an amazing part in this book and it makes it more fantastic that the fact she is half vamp half human!6.yeaah edward is a lil bit upset and down in this book but you would be aswell if your wife was battered from the inside out :O RPatzz is an amazing actor and so is the rest of the cast, but its the whole point in the book to see edward from a different point.7

yes its your opinion and you're entitled to it but the writer seems to have some serious issues with BD. i didnt hate BD, but i didnt love it either. be that as it may, i'll try to objectively look at what you're saying.1) yes we were all waiting for the wedding but that's not the be-all-end-all event of the saga - it's whether or not he'd turn her like she's wanted for 3 books. edward and bella end up together - that was a given since page 1 of twilight. the wedding should be the ending of the saga IF AND ONLY IF summit decides never to make breaking dawn, but why on God's green earth wouldn't they? you can pretty much put money down - November 21, 2009, NM grosses ~$50M opening day, summit officially greenlights BD.2) for crying out loud - it's not necessary to see every moment, but it is a very important part of the damn story. there are far worse scenes out there than this that would "traumatize" the <13 href="javascript:submitRatingReport(">Report Abuse

5) first the name, stephenie put the name in print. move on. and just for the record, the practice of naming kids by mixing mom/dad/grandma/grandpa is very common in the philippines where i grew up. one escapes me at the moment, i'm sure if i put some time in, i can come up with someone i've known with a weirder mix than Renesmee Carlie. now onto renesmee - first off, theres this little something called the "suspension of disbelief". this is necessary to enjoy any work of fiction. once you accept this, of course it was gonna be half-human half-vampire! unnecessary - its the natural progression of things. after marriage, the kid tends to come next.6) Pattinson is the draw, but BELLA is the star. this saga is about her, always has been. Pattinson missing - they're doing it for NM, they certainly could do it again for BD, inserting more edward. you seem to forget that a 1/3 of BD is in jacob POV, so naturally his presence is minimal there.7) certainly not all of them will have speaking parts come movie time - trust that at least half of the vamps on p.756 will just be extras. (see the X-Men movies for reference)8) i would have wanted an actual final fight too, but this is what Meyer wanted from the get go and that's the only opinion that matters at the end of the day, so i accepted it (if i read shakespeare i probably could have seen the ending coming). so unless she and only she okays a different ending - twilighters probably wont stand for anything but this ending whether they loved or hated BD.9) J.Jenks was her ticket to protect Renesmee and Jacob if the Volturi did actually whack all the Cullens so he is a necessary character. but true he wont need much screen time - you can probably do him justice in 5 minutes screen time max. as far as the shield goes, i'm kinda fuzzy on the details there, but you said it saved everyone in the end - so it is not a plot point that went nowhere.10) see #8. also part of the appeal to me of the saga was the fact that Stephenie broke every so-called "rule" about vampires. at its core this is a love story that has vampires, not a vampire action movie with a love story in it.

I can KINDA see your point but Breaking Dawn was one of my fav. Yes they will have to change some of it but they also did to Twilight and prob New Moon.1 The wedding was great. I was happy it finally happened.2 I think SM did a good job implying the sex bc this is a book for all ages and not just adults.3 I defiantly disagree with Taylor carrying this one solo. It was good but not the best part in my opinion.4 OMG!!! You ***** about their being no action and then you ***** that its to gruesome. Make your mind up.5 Your an IDIOT and thats all I'm going to say on that one.6 I was sad that their wasn't as much Edward but this isn't a book about Edward, this is a book about Bella or Jacob and the way they view things.7 Again you are an IDIOT who so didn't read this book.

6. If you're reading these books because you're in love with edward again i question your sanity, edward's great but its obviously the story that wins because you made it thru NM, also RPattz IS. NOT. EDWARD.7. The other vamps aren't pointless and w/o zafrina you wouldn't have much of a Bella power8. ok, ill give you that but there is undescribed fighting in bella's training which can be elaborated like in Twilight the movie9. i don't think that these are superfluous because w/o them the story would not have ended the same way and all the cullens would be dead10. There was no way for it to be won physically. They didn't just ask to be spared, they prove that there is no basis for the destruction of their coven so that if the volturi were to take them out they would look bad and it would just be a giant revolt against them... just because you aren't smart enough to understand the strategy doesn't mean it's not realistic and once again this isn't reality it's vampires and werewolves

OK, thats all your own MISGUIDED opinion! are you even a fan?1The first 100 pages were great but they weren't the best part of the book! AND the rest of the book is not 'fan-fic'-y2yes the sex was implied but that fits with the books, yeah bella wants the sexin but not only would she not tell the world about it plus if you were doin the horizontal tango with edward cullen would you be able to keep your wits about you enough to coherently explain what was happening... remember those parts of the book are from BPOV so they have to stay in that context! Plus if you really read it, there are some pretty spicy implications3Jacob's part was funny but you are fkn batsht if you think that it could change someone's team allegiance. i hated him until i found out about the imprint! i'm not even going to talk about taylor lautner being in the center of the poster4The birth is rightfully dramatic, all other human mothers were killed so idk what your problem with that is besides how it would show on screen but the book is ALWAYS better so who cares5Renesmee is a cool name and she's a cool character and not at all pointless... she IS the plot, stephenie never said that vamps and humans couldn't reproduce just that shevamps couldnt have kids. and you say that BxE having a kid is absurd/ridiculous... its a fkn book about VAMPIRES and WEREWOLVES so really the fact that you question the plausibility of that makes me question your grip on realityTo Be Continued

While I would love to see the main points of Breaking Dawn made into a movie - the wedding, honeymoon, Bella changing into a vampire, and her eventually uncovering a way to let Edward read her mind - I agree with the auther of this article, much of the book would need to change. I thought the baby part was dumb and sending Bella straight into motherhood was kinda depressing. Then the fact that Jacob and Rosalie were always holding it was creepy. And yeah, the characters all went awry. Edward became way too whimpy, and no mention of Bella's mom after the wedding, and suddenly her father didn't want to know anything about her? Didn't make sense at all. It's hard when you fall in love with the series and the characters, you feel cheated when the characters and story lines are completely obliterated in the final book. JMO

I was just curious about some of your points. You say that sending Bella straight into motherhood is depressing. What about it is depressing? If you mean all the events that it immediately led to were depressing, okay, i kind of see that but I don't really see how her getting pregnant was depressing. And how were Jake and Rosalie creepy? I mean in what way because all I saw were two people who loved a newborn and wanted a chance ot hold her. Edward was wimpy? Um, he was depressed and maginally suicidal but I don't think I'd use wimpy to describe him. And he got to that point because he felt that HE was killing Bella. He believed that what she was going through was completely the result of this own selfish desires. (which is completely ridiculous, but that's a whole other issue) Oh and what do you mean suddenly Charlie didn't want to know anything about her? I don't even know where you're getting that. He was calling and calling during the time they told him that she had some disease. Does that sound like not wanting to know her? Sorry, I know it's your opinion, I'd just like to know how you reached that opinion

okay, time out! i think the author of this article is a little too harsh. Renesmee is not a pointless character. this is one persons opinion and one that doesn't matter and wont change the minds of others. you shouldn't have wasted you time writing all of this cause its ridiculous and absurd! if you didn't like the book then to bad, that's your opinion but to write this article know of all the twilight saga fans out there is just plan stupid cause your making all of them hate you. so, in conclusion: to reelzchannel- you should have never asked this person to write this article cause its pointless and he or she is stupid, and to the author of this article- no body cares what you think! of course they aren't going to put everything that's in the book in the movie, that's just stupid, and your stupid if you think they're going to make an eight hour movie! so shut up and stop writing articles, your making people hate you!

First of all Breaking Dawn is my faveourite book of all, but what I can say is I agree 100% with the author of this article, this doesn's make me STUPID though does it?I think your comments are extremely rude and uncalled for. I think to be a real fan you need to have your own opinions and not jump on the bandwagon like you have. 5. The idea is not absurd, it was even written in Twilight that it could happen. And again, it's Stephenie's story so she has free reign on what can and can't happen. Last time I checked, I didn't see your name on the cover of the book. 6. Obviously you didnt read the third part of the book because he is not absent. And he is still in the second part but the second part is about Jacob not Edward so of course he won't be in that as much. 7, 8, 9, 10. Seriously, everyone that came into the story played an important role and if you didnt like the ending so much then who cares, no one forced you to read it and why should you care if they mess up the movie or not? Your not a true twilight fan and if you were then you would love everything that Stephenie wrote in the books even if it wasn't exactly what you wanted because it's not your story, its hers. It's her world, her characters, and quite frankly, she can do what ever she wants with it. And if they change anything about the book when they make it into a movie, then no one will go see it and there will be so many complaints because it's not what was written so there for, it will not be Breaking Dawn.

Write your own story? That defeats the purpose. People read to escape and get a good story, or finish a good story. Everyone has a right to critique a book, and the normal response to those criticisms should be: ok. I disagree, but I will respect your opinion. Not "write your own story." Of course people change but the fundamental aspects of their personalities don't change, and that is exactly what happened. Don't accuse people of not being a true twilight fans; you don't know this person, she could be the biggest twilight fan in the world and therefore, has more substance to her review because only someone who truly appreciated the saga could critique it so accurately. While I agree that it's Ms. Meyer's story and can do what she wants with it, that doesn't mean that BD was not a disappointment to a lot of people. And I'm pretty sure people would still come out and see these movies if things were changed(as long as they don't totally f.uck up the other 2). Twilight was changed but they still made millions.

Ok, first things first, I do not agree with the author of this article. If you dont like the way the book was written then get over it. Stephenie Meyer wrote it the way she wanted it to be written and if you have such a problem then just go write your own book and quit critizing other peoples. About the points; 1. The wedding was perfect and you say it was to short, well, the book isn't about the wedding. The wedding is one of many small steps to Bella and Edward being together for the rest of their lifes. Its not supposed to be the whole story. And it was anticipated but not the most anticipated thing. I think everyone will agree with me when I say that the most anticipated thing was Bella becoming a vampire. Thats what the whole saga led up to. 2. Abuse? Really? That is retarded and childish. And just because it doesn't describe the actual "sex" does not mean you have to bash on it. I think Stephenie gave just enough to make these scenes intimate and beautiful without getting rated r. Like some of the people said before me, this saga was directed towards tween audiences so if you want to complain about the absence in these parts then go read an adult love story. 3. Jacob is not the only one who stays in character. He changes to, just as Bella and Edward do. All of the characters change through out the books. They grow with the story and as they live out the lifes. You can't expect them not to change. It's called growing up. Everyone does it. 4. Again with the critizing. If you don't like this birth scene, then go write your own! Yea its gruesome but what birth isn't? I mean come on, no one said you had to have a baby a certain way and if Stephenie Meyer wants to change it up in HER OWN story then all the power to her. Do not critize her imagination.

First off- you are way wrong about Breaking Dawn. It was the best one out of all four books. I mean come on- the end of Jacob's Part- imprinting on Renesme! That was a mind blower that no part of Harry Potter could ever beat, and I am a total die hard Harry Potter fan too. I loved learning about Bella's power and reading about her learning her vampire strength, and not to mention- being a mom myself reading about her fierce protective instinct over Renesme was awesome. I'm sure that I am not the only Twilight Mom out there that wishes she had that shield or strength or speed- even though we all like to pretend we have it all. LOL. And Breaking Dawn was not written for Edward. Breaking Dawn is for Bella. If you read on Stephenie's website the cover of the book with the pawn and the queen is to represent Bella's transformation from what she thought a plain ordinary girl to a powerful beautiful vampire- a pawn to a queen. Also don't forget that New Moon and Eclipse were never in the original plan for Twilight. There are a lot of factors that you have to take into account before you diss on Breaking Dawn. Maybe you need to do your home work.

The end of Jacob's part was an awful plot twist. It was just a convenient, albeit sloppy, way to tie off the Jacob story line because, as you reminded us, New Moon and Eclipse(and Jacob) were never the original plan for Twilight. She's not talking about Edward, she's talking about Robert Pattinson. People freaking love the guy. He's getting mobbed in the streets while he's not even filming Twilight. The actor, not necessarily the character, are a huge draw for audiences. Why do you think they added hallucinations instead of just a voice in New Moon?

Breaking Dawn was my favorite book, as a matter of fact all of my 30-something and over friends love the last book most. I really hope they break it up into 2 or 3 movies. That would be a fantastic idea...$$$$...not to mention the amount of money they would make ;) As a fan, I guess I just don't want it to end...ever.

I loved Breaking Dawn and I am a 40 something mom.I disagree with the author of this article. You know the saying, It's always darkest before the dawn? Well thats how the book goes. Bella and Edwards story doesnt just end with a wedding. they learn that through the darkness of her pregnancy there is light in the child they share. But the darkness soon returns for them . Being a mom myself I would move time, heaven and earth itself to protect them. And there lies the end of the book. Take time to really read the book before you judge it too harshly. I really loved all of the human elements throughout the four of them. Vampires and werewolves noot withstanding!

With the mention of Harry Potter, you seem to be comparing the two together when they're not the same...at all! Apples and Oranges. As for the sex scene, don't forget this book was orginally written for "young adults". I know in today's society sex is everywhere, but reguardless, is it necessary to go into details of a sex scene with young readers? As for the rest of the book, I think it was put together nicely. Everyone had their role. Whether it was being the chatter box, or the sole one in the corner. Everyone had a part to play, and without that link I don't think the story would have made much sense. As for the fight scene. What actually constitutes as a fight scene? People hacking each other up? Blood and guts? Please, that's so overrated. If you had actually taken the time to read BD, then you would have realized that there was a lot going on during the fight--aside from Irina being killed. Alec and Jane were attacking the entire time Aro, Caius, and Marcus were discussing. Bella was sheilding her friends and family, Benjamin (who you claim has no importance) was creating cracks in the Earth trying to rid of Alec's mist. So please, before you continue on "hatin'" re-read BD again. Just because you don't like the way it was written, doesn't mean the rest of us think it was bad.

I couldn't agree more with this article. I am a huge fan of Twilight and of all the books, but I must say, when I got to Breaking Dawn, I almost decided to stop reading it... I wasn't sure what to think, honestly. It had a very different vibe compared to the other 3 books and as much as Stephanie's books were fairly easy to read, I found myself strugling with the last one. If Summit wants this one to be a success at the box office, they will need to do some serious rewriting. The Wedding itself was fine and then the honeymoon was disappointing. Yes, you get the idea of what happened but it kind of leaves you with a page full of holes in it! I just remember going: "Huh?". I'm not saying give me full details - TMI is not necessary and Stephanie kept it tasteful - but I think this very part of their love for each other has been emphasized several times in all 4 books and to give the readers a mere paragraph was hugely disappointing! I mean, Bella's random thoughts would at times be written over several paragraphs and this very important part was just not enough.. I was dying to know if he was going to finally kill her or what! Anyway, aside from that, Edward does somewhat "disappear" throughout the rest of this book. His presence is less powerfull and doesn't feel like the same quircky, funny, sarcastic Edward as in the rest of the books. Bella on the other hand becomes a different character all together. Didn't feel like the same Bella to me. The whole Renesmee is very strange and I'm not sure I want to see Edward ripping her stomach open with his teeth... That whole part could be skipped, if you ask me.. There is a serious lack of action. The end needs to be revisited and a lot more vampire action needs to be put in. There are way too many characters and some are completely useless. Regardless, I will still go and see the final result as I am a devoted fan. I say, good luck to the screenwriter. Give me a shout if you need some ideas!

They have a right to voice their opinion just as much as you do. It's not like their points aren't valid either. I agree with many of the points even though I adored Breaking Dawn. Instead of trying to bash Breaking Dawn how about you talk about something else, I love Breaking Dawn. It is the best book out of all of them. So back off and go somewhere else with your crap. I love the way Stephenie Meyer's writing and how she put all the details in for us. She is a great writer! and by the way you said this thing you wrote was about the way the movie could fall or be a box office sell out, let me ask you a question where are the reason's for it being a great movie. All you wrote about is how it will fall. Aren't you suppose to give both sides of a story not just one. WOW I thought being a writer was about being true to the people who read what you write, but if your going to lie about then I feel sorry for you. Maybe next time you can write about what your title says!

You obviously must have some prejudice over the book or something.1. The wedding to me, was great. There was a lot of emotion (IF you were paying attention) and I don't see how anyone can't see that. And I think Edward w/ the garter was first a little weird, but then cute. 2. I pictured Isle Esme as a beautiful place, especially for a honeymoon with a vampire. I thought it was perfect, but it's all in the eye of the beholder. Some wanted more, some wanted less.3. Yes, that part was easily the funniest for me.4. Have you seen The Hills Have Eyes? To me that's gruesome, and I don't think Bella's birth is worse than that. 5. How is it ridiculous that she had a baby? Are you suddenly the expert on what is supposed to happen in that world? No. And Stephenie didn't say it was impossible. She even said it WAS possible in Twilight. I do not see how Renesmee is annoying. I think all stayed in “character”6. The book is mostly from Bella's point of view. Why is Edward necessary in every single scene? Oh yeah, he's not. I'm pretty sure he was quite absent in New Moon. Of course Bella is different, she has a child! But she is still the same, if you look past your feelings about how it's taboo for fictional vampires to have a baby...7, 8, 9, 10. I can't think of one useless character, except maybe Max. J. Jenks is necessary, he was the ticket to Renesmee being safe. How could you forget Tanya, ELEAZAR, Benjamin, ZAFRINA, Nahuel, and Irina? Breaking Dawn would be impossible without them. There IS action. But if it was a total bloodbath, most characters would be dead. Sure, SOME would survive, but not enough. Since when is a movie qualified as good by how many fights there are? And it totally fits Aro's character to back down. He's the type of person who needs an audience, and when that backfires, he gets scared. I don't agree with your review, and in my opinion, if these "tips" to getting $ are replaced by the book's version, I'd be pissed.

First of all, if you didn't like the book, and from all the obvious negativity there is no doubt about that, why would you ever think that you'd enjoy the movie based off of it. I have a lot of problems with this article because I feel like you misunderstand everything you have a problem with. I'm gonna take this point by point 1. The wedding is of course a huge part of the book and something I was personally looking forward to immensely. I don't really understand how you would have liked it to be drawn out more. I felt that the feelings and emotions of the wedding were able to carry on through the following scenes, like the honeymoon, and were what made that downfall and all of the agony Jacob witnesses that much more powerfully heartbreaking. Another thing that bothers me is the fact that you say Bella-Edward-Jacob love triangle. I love Jacob, I really do, and my heart broke for him at the end of Eclipse and over and over again reading his thoughts in Breaking Dawn, but Bella picked Edward. She is now totally his. Jacob will always have a place in her heart and she loves him but at this point he is no longer someone she is condisdering which is the basis of a love triangle. Okay, point two 2. Okay, I'm just gonna say a few things about this. First of all, Most things are much better left to the imagination. Plus, I thought it was extremely romantic. Their moonlit swim and all of the building anticipation. I didn't really feel it was necessary to see inside the bedroom, especially with all of the joy she felt the next morning. And any talk about abuse or domestic violence are completely ridiculous so I don't understand the point of acknowleding them. 3. I totally agree that this section was entertaining. It was also heartbreaking but yes, entertaining. I loved his chapter titles as well as all of the sarcasm was classic. "You. Got. Food. In. My. Hair." - I loved all of that with Rosalie. I don't understand people you hate Jacob.

4. the birth of course is gonna be grusome, but have you seen any PG-13 movies lately, they put all kinds of crap into them now. And the birth is supposed to bring Bella to a point when only venom will save her. 5. First, you say them having a child is absurd. People seem to forget that this IS fiction so the only thing that would make something absurd would be if it was breaking some kind of rule, which it didn't. And how did the pregnancy turn Bella into a robot? She was dying. She was weak and making the man she loved miserable to save their child. And that's why she's doing it in the first place - because it was Edward's child, which totally fits with her charater and i don't know how anyone could see otherwise. The only reason Edward seem nonexistant was because at this point we're hearing the story from Jacob's POV. Another thing, I don't really know how you can find Renesmee irritating, I just don't get it. 6. I don't even get this point. He's in the book and occupies a major role in it. I'm gonna do the last ones all at once. All those extra characters that you deem as uniportant are a major reason why all of the Cullens and werewolves don't die when the Volturi come to pay them a visit. But I don't know, maybe you wanted them to since you have a problem with the ending. And don't be under any miscomprehensions, if a fight actually came to pass, both Edward and Bella would be dead. There were way to key to the fight for either of them to remain. Maybe you missed the fact they were key because you seem to think that Bella's power was a unsubstantal. It kind of what allowed everyone to survive. Oh, and J. Jenks was so important to the story. That's the only way Bella could have insured Renesmee's survival. Okay, so plenty of people hate Breaking Dawn but I loved it and I'm sorry that it didn't live up to your expectations because it surpassed mine. And the final scene was the most romantic moment I think I could have ever imagined.

Listen anyone who liked Breaking Dawn the book either loves the story too much to see the problems or have no literary sense. Breathe I am not saying 'you guys are dumb' or anything but the book does not flow with with the first three books. The first three set up for a great ending to this story and Stephanie faltered, whether you think Breaking Dawn was great or not, it was not liked by everyone. There was no flow to this book she wrote everything that eventually came to nothing. If you like Breaking Dawn, I think eventually you will come to see that this book is not meant to be made into a movie or be related in anyway to the Twilight series. I will not see this movie because there is nothing I wish to see in it. All the characters were behaving unlike themselves and the antifight was the worst wimpy writing plus Jake imprinting on the kid was the biggest cop out in literary history. The plot would have to be entirely revamped for me even to consider seeing it and half the fans would not stand for that, and I truly hope Robert and Kristen come to realize that this is not something they should do because it shall ruin the entire story.Check this out I liked this way better then the original Breaking Dawnhttp://www.fanfiction.net/s/4465051/1/Elliptical

I don't want them changing a thing about Breaking Dawn the way Meyer wrote it was brilliant! And I honestly don't see why people got made at Bella having a baby, it was perfect. I mean haven't people seen Underworld: Rise of the Lycans they are Vamps and they have kids so its not a big deal. There is one thing in the book that was pointless which was J. Jenks, you could level that out and still maintain the story. And not having Edward so much is not that big of a deal Breaking Dawn is about Bella for once.

The very same people who sneer at Twilight will go on for HOURS about Star Trek, or Dune, or Harry Potter or StarWars. I think that the only saga whose world beats that of Twilight is The Lord of the Rings. Stephenie Meyer's characters are interesting and have lots of potential for more stories, and more 'life' beyond the books already written, which is the mark of a really excellent 'world'. The Twilight World has its own internal logic, and when, in Breaking Dawn, Bella goes through her Valley of the Shadow of the Death, her new perceptions as a 'vampire' fit with the entire preceding story. "Breaking Dawn" has some of my favorite sections. And I hope very much that if a movie is made of that book, it is done well. In my opinion, it should be done by Frank Miller and Peter Jackson. The world in which the vampire immortals live is an abstraction of our world, but much more intense.

"We’ve come up with 10 ways the movie could either rake in major box-office bucks or epically fail" maybe i just read this whole article wrong but i only saw reasons that it would fail. where were the reasons it would do good? who wrote this and what do you have against breaking dawn? i think the last movie will do great.

Obviously the movie won't be rated PG13. Also, the title of the book isn't "Edward" so he doesn't have to be in every single scene. A true Twilight fan has grown to love every single character in the book, even if they love to hate them, so I doubt that it would get boring. There are a million and one amazing movies without fight scenes. If you honestly think that it would be a boring movie I suggest reading the book again because you obviously don't know it well.

This made me mad. Just give them more reasons to ruin the movie by changing the story around! I mean yea, it was like, bleh but i mean, i didnt hear no one complain about it who actually read it. All i heard was complaints about bella having a baby. i though it was cute. But get over the fact that Stephanie made the book the way it is and dont change anything about how the story goes.

i am sooo sick of hearing people talk crap about breaking dawn! if you didn't like the book then shut up, keep your thoughts to yourself, and go on with your life. no but instead you talk about it to because twilight is what makes you money. i am very satisfied with the way that stephanie ended things and i hope that all the movies stay very close to the books.

Breaking Dawn should be presented as a 'comic book', a la Frank Miller's '300': as Bella becomes a vampire, she is now in a totally different world, one that must be portrayed in abstractions. The best collaboration would be Frank Miller and Peter Jackson. Jackson has made 2 really good movies about young women: Beautiful Creatures and (coming up) the Lovely Bones. In the final battle, Bella's 'shield' could play a very dramatic role. Although it would be nice to maybe watch the 2 Draculas in a final misty scene taking out Aro...
